Ilya Segalovich

Yandex is one of the biggest software companies of Russia, almost one thousand of managers and developers are working on a single product. In the presentation I will talk about the specifics of the software engineering management at Yandex, our practices and adopted tools, motivation strategies and how we try to keep Yandex agile and effective. Key technologies and platform components which are most important for Yandex are going to be covered in the talk as well.

Ilya SegalovichIlya Segalovich

Ilya Segalovich is one of Yandex co-founders and has been Yandex Chief Technology Officer and a director since 2000. He began his career working on information retrieval technologies in 1990 at Arcadia Company, where he headed Arkadia’s software team. From 1993 to 2000, he led the retrieval systems department for CompTek International. Mr. Segalovich placed second in the All Soviet Union Math Olympiad in 1981. Mr. Segalovich received a degree in geophysics from the S. Ordzhonikidze Moscow Geologic Exploration Institute.
